Some photographs raise more questions than answers.

  1. Welcome to the Geneabloggers family. Hope you find the association fruitful; I sure do. I have found it most stimulating, especially some of the Daily Themes.

May you keep sharing your ancestor stories!

  2. Hey Danielle! Welcome to Geneabloggers - it's a great group. Be sure to check out the great webinars that are listed on the Geneabloggers' site. I look forward to reading more posts!

  3. Opelousas? Looks to me that is a sign referring to S. R. Landry Bank in Opelousas, Louisiana. Not much of a mystery. It's located just a few miles above Lafayette, Louisiana. Love the pic, by the way, what is that guy doing out there, reading up against a fence? Priceless.

Looking forward to reading your posts.

  4. Oops, not SR Landry, it's St. Landry. Sorry about that.

  5. Thank you for all the comments!

The strange thing about this picture, at least to my family, is that none of my ancestors were born outside of Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio and none of them died anywhere near Louisiana. It is interesting to know one might have visited somewhere so far away from where they originated from. I wish I knew what he was doing and why. It's all apart of the thousands of questions I have.
